NABJ 2012: New Platforms. New Directions. New Orleans.

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) welcomes you to join us from June 20th - 24th as we gather in New Orleans for the 37th Annual Convention and Career Fair! Thousands of journalists, media executives, public relations professionals, and students are expected to attend to network, participate in professional development sessions and celebrate excellence in journalism. The National Association of Black Journalists will host an array of special events during the convention.

The 2012 convention theme – #NABJ12: New Platforms. New Directions. New Orleans – will feature session topics that fall under one of three tracks: Perfecting Your Craft, Tech & Tools and Innovation Station. The breakout sessions will be 75 minutes long. There will also be a series of half-day short courses, day-long learning labs and sponsored meal functions…Something for everyone.

Perfecting Your Craft sessions will stress mastery of reporting, writing, editing and other journalism cornerstones. Tech & Tools sessions will highlight new and emerging technology. Innovation Station sessions will emphasize innovation and entrepreneurship in the dissemination of news and information.
